A quote by Elbert Hubbard on criticism is the topic of this blog post.
“To avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing.” Elbert Hubbard
“This is an excellent quote and one that any person who hates criticism should read. I do not see how anyone can deny the truth of this quote as I definitely know of no other way to avoid criticism. I do not like dealing with criticism any more than anybody else but I also know that I do not want to be so obsessed with avoiding criticism that I hold back for not doing what I know in my heart needs to be done or saying what I know in my heart needs to be said. If I lived my life that way I might avoid criticism from other people but I would not respect myself and I would be surprised if I received much respect from anyone else either. I would much rather do what needs to be done and say what needs to be said than live my life in mortal fear of criticism because I know in my heart that I can deal with the criticism from others much better than I could ever deal with the way that I would feel about myself if I did not follow my heart.” Stan Burman
