A quote by Harry Browne on the free market is the topic of this blog post.
“Voluntary association produces the free market – where each person can choose among a multitude of possibilities.” Harry Browne
“I absolutely agree with this quote by Harry Browne as it is the most accurate description of the free market that I have ever read. Voluntary association is the most important element in any free market at least in my opinion. The sad fact is that the United States has not had a truly free market in most products and services for decades. In many cases consumers are not free to choose among a multitude of possibilities as in this quote. Instead they are forced to choose between at most several companies that for the most part differ little in either price or service thanks to “managed competition”. The big corporations only pay lip service to the free market as they much prefer managed competition as that is more profitable for them than the free market.” Stan Burman
