Quote by Walter Lippmann on wisdom

A quote by Walter Lippmann on wisdom is the topic of this blog post.

“It requires wisdom to understand wisdom: the music is nothing if the audience is deaf.” Walter Lippmann

“Excellent quote by Walter Lippmann in that it illustrates the old saying that it takes one to know one. If someone does not have wisdom they can hardly be expected to appreciate or even recognize the wisdom of another person. I can attest to the truth of this quote as I have dealt with many individuals in my life that obviously lacked wisdom and I soon learned that fact as they did not appreciate or recognize the knowledge and experience that I was attempting to convey.  It really felt like I was a musician expecting a deaf audience to understand music now that I think about it.” Stan Burman
